About Us
We are married and reside in San Diego, California. We are privileged to live where moderate weather year round provides ample opportunity for viewing and photographing native flora and fauna.
Bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Anza Borrego Desert on the east, San Diego County is one of the premier birding sites in the United States, with over 230 recorded species. As you might expect, we are both avid birders, and our initial interest in photographing birds was to help us with bird identification. Our photographs gave us a real appreciation for the beauty and diversity of birds, and led us to want to share some of our photographic images with you. Most of them were captured with a Canon EOS40D camera using various lenses, including a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens.
Besides photography, we both have other artistic interests. Claire is an accomplished ceramic artist, having won awards for her unique ceramic creations. She has a wheel and two electric kilns in our garage. We recently began adding photographs of some of her artistic creations to our Website. When Gerry is not taking or editing photographs, he enjoys creating pen & ink drawings and watercolor paintings, often combining the two media. His subjects are generally birds, animals and landscapes.
